1. Too Much Content Starting in 2021, Marvel has consistently released up to 6+ projects a year or more. That’s a lot for the average audience member to keep up with. In 2022 alone, they released 8 MCU projects all of which, had nothing to do with each other.

If we look back to the infinity saga, the movies were a lot more closely connected, and each movie was basically setting up the next installment. With the Multiverse saga, we have had only a couple of instances where the projects have actually connected with each other.

2. No Core Characters If we look back to the infinity saga, Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor were easily the main core characters for that saga. Each of them had a trilogy within the saga, and also appeared multiple times even outside their own solo films.

For the Multiverse saga so far, we don’t really have any core characters. Most of the brand new MCU characters have only appeared one time. So now, a lot of people don’t get excited when we see a new character because who knows when it’ll be the next time we see them again.

3. Lack Of Focus Marvel clearly had no plan for what they wanted to do with this saga. I feel like they genuinely were just winging it in the beginning and it bit them in the ass. They were just announcing movies and shows without having a plan of what to do next.

4. Nostalgia Baiting Some of the most successful movies of the last few years for Marvel were involving the Multiverse, but the reason these films were successful was because they brought back old heroes from 20 year-old movies. No shit, that is gonna make a billion dollars.

But the problem with those movies, is they are amazing to watch the first time, but after that, you lose the magic of nostalgia, and you start to see the huge flaws in those films. But Marvel doesn’t care about good storytelling anymore, they just want your money now.
