SC today concluded marathon hearing in the AIFF matter. Judgment now stands reserved & is likely to be pronounced sometime in the reopening of courts post the summer vacations in July 2025. This judgment would lay the path for sports governance across sports disciplines in India.

Unfortunate to hear that lives hv been lost while celebrating maiden IPL title win by #RCB. Pertinent questions must be asked &heads must roll at all levels starting from top officials of RCB/KSCA as a franchise which called for this open house event or top State Govt officials.

Hence heads must roll for granting permission for such a mega gathering, for allowing thousands of people to gather at one place at such a short notice and for not having appropriate arrangements in place in collaboration with BCCI/IPL/KSCA/RCB officials. They all are guilty.

Buzz is that Sports Minister, in anticipation, is all set to undo the soon to be passed judgment by SC in the AIFF matter (if it’s pro reforms) through a draconian sports legislation in support of the conflicted & entrenched administrators & against sportspersons. #DirtyPolitics

Legislation is the right way to deal with this menace but a progressive, pro reform one and not one which is draconian, regressive, anti sports/sportsperson. Why should it dilute even the current Govt Sports Code which has the stamp of approval of the HC and SC?

Through legislation this government is going to make politicians a permanent fixture and conflict ridden unaccountable officials with unending tenures a norm.
