"For a while. I'd rather not get into it, but let's just say some bad shit happened and I turned to the bottle to cope with it." He put down another card. Not doing too had this time, maybe he had a chance after all.

"Yeah, I suppose we do. I've done things I'm not proud of, many things I'm not proud of. But, plans change. And I'm trying to change that, even if the effort is...a little unrewarding right now."

"Oh! Right. Yeah, sorry." He hesitated, careful when choosing his next card. He still wanted some chance, didn't he? Or was it becoming apparent that Morrigan was quite frankly, better than him at this? He places down another card, slightly more impressed with the number.

"How the f...how did I win that?" He was genuinely surprised. How the hell did he manage to win that? ,"I'm...confused."

"Considering that I'm skag shit at black jack? I'm surprised. Maybe it's why I won so many poker matches back in the day, I could just fraud it." He paused. "Yeah don't tell anyone I said that."

It was a relief to hear that, at least. The amount of money he'd swindled out of people on behalf of his mother? Oh boy, he did NOT wanna get back into that clusterfuck. It was hard enough getting OUT of it. "Heh. Thanks."
