Ethan Denum was a huge part of Charles Best School athletics, and sadly passed away from cancer in 2017. See the attached screenshots for a fantastic fundraising initiative started by Ethan’s very dear friend, Paige Brace, for the ETHAN DENUM MEMORIAL FOUNDATION.

Favourite moment of my day so far: a Gr. 2 student tells me the eagle we are watching in the sky at lunch can see more colours than us because it has “4 different kinds of cone cells and we only have 3”. Had to Google that. She was right.

Students at Hampton Park Elementary School have shared great displays of learning from inquiry, social emotional learning and literacy as well as directed art projects found in the hallway of their school! 👏👏👏 Well done students!

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of BC basketball official and coach, Felix Gonzalez. Basketball BC was fortunate to have Felix coach in the BC Summer Games and Zone Championships over the years. Blog post ow.ly/JKNf50DIblP

Had the pleasure of coaching against Felix and had him ref many of my teams’ games. Always fair, calm and dedicated in all he did. He will be missed.

Kelly Olynyk appreciation thread. He represented the team well for four seasons and had some really nice moments. Just a good person and player. Gotta give to receive, but he’ll be missed.

Really appreciate the special “happiness grab bags” put together by several staff members as an opening activity for our Pro D today. We all opened them at the same time on Teams. So fun!
