On this day in 1549, one of the darkest events in Cornish history occurred during the Anglo-Cornish (Prayer Book) War. Some 900 unarmed Cornish prisoners, taken following the battles of Woodbury and Clyst St Mary, were systematically murdered by forces of the English government.

In this day in 1644, Sir Richard Grenville and his Cornish infantry captured Restormel Castle from Parliamentarian forces which had invaded Cornwall. This was the prelude to the Parliamentarian’s single greatest defeat of the entire Civil War - the Battle of Lostwithiel.

I think 95-99% of people are INCAPABLE of dealing with the Covid pandemic. They do not have the courage, resolve, intellectual / mental resources, altruism or broad perspective to do it. They are also allowing the destruction of the planet, so maybe we shouldn't be surprised.
