The desperation is palpable. For people who openly admit they rely 100% on experts to form their opinion, this being portrayed as a disaster is in line with the thinking. But think about it... If "Core" completely disappeared tomorrow, what would the effect on the Bitcoin

People who do this and then release malicious software, as I've said before, are already classified as criminals and are subject to penalties. Anyone writing and releasing code that does this going to be prosecuted in future, when many people rely on Bitcoin as infrastructure.

Quickly running a node at no cost to use Bitcoin as permissionless, censorship-resistant money is now effectively a thing of the past. BIP-110 patches the inscriptions bug and is critical to restore decentralized nodes, the immune system of a healthy monetary protocol. 🧡

"And this is not libertarianism. This is not principled. It's pacifism. It's complete nihilism at the end, because you just end up going along with the violence of others, and just patting yourself on the back for not participating in it."

"The data doesn't support the panic." The data supports the urgency of stopping data spam. The current blockchain contains 36% spam, and growing instead of diminishing. A possible CSAM data spam attack adds other layers of risk: reputational, technical, social, legal.
