A take I find tempting: I have a feeling most people are put off from the Stoic view of the good life because of a knee-jerk reaction to how austere it seems from the outside rather than any kind of distinctly philosophical reason. People don't wanna lose what was never theirs

Idk how else to do it. I just read, think about it, and then go talk to people about it. Sometimes, I don't even take notes 😱

Has anyone ever tried to resolve the "problem" by suggesting that God is just evil? Like, sure, that's still a problem for triple OOO God, by what's stopping us from imagining God as a cosmic mustache twirler? They/it can even still be all-powerful.

One of the most damaging aspects of electoral politics is how it completely overshadows all other political discourse and makes everyone forget about the more important work that must be done on the ground. It is a never-ending, cyclic distraction.

kamala harris is not your mother, or aunt. not an embodiment of experiences of ordinary black womanhood, or the time you experienced a micro-aggression in the office. she is campaigning to be the face of empire so unless identify with that, there are no parallels to be drawn!

Today, I wondered: who would win in a kaiju battle? Hobbes's Leviathan or St. Thomas Aquinas? We can imagine they are scaled to the same size for some fairness (ex. King Kong v. Godzilla). I've included my rendering of what the fight might look like as well.
