How Southwest Airlines ruined Christmas. 3 days, 3 canceled flights. They're still blaming the weather but much of it is staff shortage. My toddler just wants to know why we've spent so much time at airports but still aren't to grandma and grandpa yet.

Well, it finally happened. While playing outside, my 2 year old kept asking, "Who is that?" When I looked to the clearly empty space he was pointing to, I asked him, "Who is who?" He juat pointed and asked again, "Who is that right there?" And now we have to move.

I finished my first novel, DEAD, WHITE & BLUE. I started in June and never wrote for more than 25 minutes a day (but with NO distractions). If I missed a day, I did not miss a 2nd day. This persistent, disciplined focus, added up without significantly affecting my daily life.

How to avoid self doubt as a filmmaker: Stop telling people you want to make a movie. Instead, go make one and show them when it’s done.

Nobody knows anything. Make your weird movie with love and with the people you love.

Whether you liked the movie or not the fact that #EverythingEverywhereAllAtOnce cleaned up at the #Oscars gives me renewed hope that Hollywood and more importantly audiences are tired of bloated-budget Marvel movies and ready for weird, wacky, UNIQUE stories again.
