Electrolytically deposited copper spear.

Borax is a really common chemical that's used for growing crystals.

But people always grow clumps of it on objects like pipe cleaners - I never see any transparent single crystals.

I'm working on a way to make them grow as clear individual crystals. Will update.

Currently growing a very long crystal of monoammonium phosphate.

Adding a touch of alum to the solution makes the crystals sharper and more elongated.

I think I added too much alum cuz it just keeps getting longer😂

These crystals really look like pieces of blue-green glass.

I grew some iron sulfate crystals.

It still amazes me that they formed in just a few days, and they're not cut or polished at all.

Here's how I grew them:

Woke up and saw this potassium ferricyanide crystal that formed overnight in a petri dish.

Gonna hang it on a string and see how big it can get.
