CST 🚨 Business investment klaxon - CBI and Make UK get a shout out for their campaign to make full expensing permanent. Hunt confirms with inflation halved he can "deliver" and make full expensing permanent in the "largest business tax cut in modern British history".

🗣️ Make UK, CBI and 200+ other business leaders told the Chancellor that making full expensing permanent would be “the single most transformational thing [he] could do for business investment and growth.” We’re glad that he listened - and even gave us a shoutout! 👇🏻

Thank you to CBI, Rain Newton-Smith and all the businesses who participated in such an excellent discussion. A Labour government will partner with business to make Britain a clean energy superpower.

We are delighted about PwC UK's return to membership and will continue to work to enjoy the confidence and backing of our members & be that unifying voice of British business. Professional services are critical to the economy and play a huge role in our sustainable growth aims.

"...what's been pretty clear is there hasn't been an alternative voice for business." Thrilled to have PwC back in membership, with today's comments from Kevin Ellis demonstrating their confidence in the work we do at the CBI, on behalf of businesses right across the UK.

Chief executive of CBI Rain Newton-Smith welcomes Rachel Reeves’ promised business tax “roadmap” within 6mos of taking office. Reeves is also “probably” right not to vow corporation tax cuts now given the public finances, but also keep options open for competitiveness

Big news for big - and small - biz. Hunt says he "listened to calls from the CBI and Make UK" and will make full expensing apply to leased assets. Will also give £200m to the recovery loan scheme to boost growth and up VAT registration threshold from £85k to £90k from April 1.

Great to hear the chancellor Sir Jeremy Hunt MP build on greater provision of more funded childcare hours last year as the CBI called for, with more long term stability for the providers of childcare. A vital part of supporting working parents & our productivity. #SpringBudget

Great to catch up yesterday with Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden at Cabinet Office to discuss CBI work, including on securing economic resilience and strengthening our capital markets to ensure the UK remains in the global race for investment.
