The Standard is almost always portrayed as an emergent, animating force that rallies all manner of beings-no matter their historical baggage-around its common cause. Whose common cause it is, of course, is always up for debate, philosophical or otherwise...

The Hound and tarot card design went through several iterations before we landed on an aesthetic that we thought could work well across the set. What do you think? #tarot #art

While the Hound dealt more with movement, the Standard directly flips other cards. Tying to its visual identity as a banner/marker of sorts, these effects tend to center around strategic placement and board awareness.

Reading and predicting your opponent's moves is an essential part of 𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐀 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐀. Your opponent's prior choices, the state of the Spread, and the available Arcana effects all factor into your prediction.

While there are only 9 Arcana today, this was not always the case. Prior to the fall, there was a 10th god represented amongst the Arcana. Now, only faint traces of its magic remain in the world.
