In Pennsylvania, things are slowly loosening restriction wise. And I’m worried bc it feels like people are jumping back into normal interaction. There’s a party on my street and I’ve seen so many more people out than normal.

As universities keep chugging to reopen, here is what has been happening in PA lately. I don't know how we can safely open schools right now. (*acknowledgement that schools are critical resources for some students, staff etc. This country should be able to do better by them).

It’s always wild to me that we expect 17 and 18 yo students to come to college with their life plan figured out.

I don't tweet much. But I'm finally #ungrading in a non-majors science course. We talked about our 'grading scale' today and what constitutes an A, B, C etc. at the end of the semester. I was blown away by their thoughtfulness. It was the best first day of class in years.

"masking will remain in effect until all campus members, without approved accommodations, have received an approved COVID-19 booster." This semester is going to go so well......

Can someone tell me where this thinking comes from?? From what I can tell it's mildER than previous variants if you are vaxxed and boosted but still shitty awful if you're not.

Can we all agree to just eliminate letters of recommendation forever?
