It's wrong, insulting and terrible for our country's economic future to write off jobs and businesses as not "viable". These were good, viable businesses before the pandemic and we need them after the crisis is over. The government must act to save them. BEIS questions earlier:

Hard to find statistics to demonstrate the financial value of this sector - weddings, barmitzvahs, life-cycle events, celebrations, corporate parties, charity dinners - yet it is a fundamental way people from all communities in the UK celebrate special occasions.

We will be lobbying Parliament to endorse the empowerment of event industry professionals as certified COVID Compliance Officers; to enable private celebrations of a significant number of guests to occur and create financial buoyancy within the private events sector. Join us.
