. Xe Currency doesn’t want my business - they closed my account after their customer service agent I had on the phone tried to issue a transfer. No explanation given.

if every reporter, editor, producer and presenter put this effort into understanding climate change and explaining its effects to the public then the policy shifts that scientists have shown we need to cut emissions would come way sooner

A village has 100 people.
99 of them vaccinated. 1 is not.
2 people become sick with Covid, 1 of whom is the unvaccinated person.

Media: “50% of cases occurred in the vaccinated!!”

This is what we’re seeing, and it’s irresponsible reporting.

This is also the reason why many people working from home hated it: if your social life is centered around work of course you're going to feel isolated if that falls away

But maybe work was never meant to be the center of our social lives in the first place?

Two things I am *begging* media outlets to learn about COVID-19:

1) Ventilation/shared air is the important thing, not disinfectant or 6-foot separation

2) We do not need to see constant images of needles piercing skin -- they are not helping encourage people to get vaccinated

Outraged about the Norwegian volleyball team being fined for not wearing bikinis? Keep that energy going for all the places that force Muslim women to undress, and the sports that ban girls in hijab✌🏽Can women just wear what they want?(Yes that includes not forcing them to cover)

Germany: FFP2 should be worn for 75min following a 30min break
North America: There is no time limit to wearing N95 masks

Both mask are very similar. Which country do you think protects the health of their people more?

TIL in Finland they use to have about 4,000 reindeer/ car accidents a year so they paint their antlers with reflective paint and this is vaguely terrifying

Some people work best at home. Some people work best in an office. Some people will find happiness in a hybrid model.

IMO the most productive workplace would be one that trusts their employees to make the decision that works best for them and their family.

When you advocate for human rights like disability rights. Some people don't like that because they don't want to have to be considerate of disabled people. Because they view us as lesser or broken. When what's truly broken is a society that doesn't prioritize accessibility.

“86% of Iceland's workforce have either moved to shorter hours for the same pay, or will gain the right to, the researchers said.
Workers reported feeling less stressed and at risk of burnout, and said their health and work-life balance had improved.”

Years ago on the tube my Japanese friend popped a mask on. I asked her why, she said she had a bit of a cold and didn't want to pass it on. It wasn't political, it wasn't an attack on her freedom. Just a courtesy to her fellow passengers. Why can't it be that simple?

should be a choice – allow and trust people to work where they're most productive and comfortable. Working remotely for the past 5 years has improved my health, work ethic, and now the best routine for my family. 🙌👩‍💻

John Gruber PS: you don't need my remote thoughts, but I think you're maybe just on the far end of a generation gap. 'We knew what we were getting into so we'll shut up and work' is the old way. 'Here are some things that might be nice for us' is the new way. It's simply progress
