#OTD in 1633, bananas went on display in Thomas Johnson's shop window in 37 St. Mary Axe, City of London. The first time the fruit had been seen in Britain. However, it would be 200 years before bananas would be imported regularly. Johnson was a noted botanist and herbalist.
