Snake unironically helped me get better at conversation. The next steps are to remember previous conversations and relate it back to the current, and occasionally follow up their stories with your own that is relevant. Balance all three and you talk like a normal human

never apologise for being obsessed. read all day. work all day. run for hours. forget time exists. be everywhere but be a ghost. turn off the world and create your own. let craft become compulsion. positive obsession is a gift, disguised as a curse.

your relationship with discipline changes so much when you shift doing things from shame to love. from ‘i have to clean’ to realizing i deserve to have a clean home. from ‘i need to work out’ to i deserve to have a healthy body. you deserve to have the best from yourself.

Filmmaking tip: Use wardrobe, makeup and set to define your character without a word. Your character speaks before they say a word. The worn boots. The unmade bed. The trophy collecting dust. The photo turned face down on the desk. Wardrobe and set are dialogue without sound.

smth discussed in creative writing class is that "ideas are dead on arrival." when you're writing a story based off ideas instead of conflict, you're writing characters who talk about how they're feeling, never put them through anything. it's just a blog post, not a story

Kane Parsons describing the Backrooms: "I think the Backrooms is kind of an externalization of that anxiety. Of what happens when you stare at a blank wall for too long, you start to hallucinate, and you start to find meaning in that hallucination."
