Richard Fitts is the first pitcher in Red Sox history to pitch five-plus scoreless innings in his first three career starts. Only one other pitcher in MLB history has done that. Andrew Abbott of the Reds in 2023.

Terribly saddened to hear about the loss of former Diamond Dawg pitchers Caleb Reed. Caleb was one of those guys I always think about helping turn State baseball around under John Cohen. As good a pitcher as he was, he was an even better dude. May God bless his family.
