Progress has started again. I’m selling parts from the donor to access the frame structure. Turns out Tesla parts are valuable, then again so was the wrecked donor car.

Brushless 20V sawzall and grinders are eager to move metal, but first - measurements are being made. Where exactly do I want the wheel center to end up? 🙂

Where to cut, that is the question. Got creative leveling the van on the lift, now precisely locating the Tesla front end under the VW to figure where to cut and merge them.

Some temporary internal support as I cut frame away under the front seat area. Meanwhile Tesla parts also getting trimmed.

Pushing forward today despite uncertainties. I’ve set aside a week for Tesfalia. Cut my hair short, feels great! Handy for messy work.

Tesfalia front frames tack welded together. Manually aligned for the last time! Rear suspension and battery mounting next. Ride height leveling is easy thanks to Gregg Oberlin who provided the diamond polished floor in the Garage Mahal. So flat! Back to measuring.

"Where to cut?" I'd like to get the rear end on wheels. I haven't driven CAD in decades but with a mesh made with polycam on my iPhone and hours learning to simply move parts in Fusion produced decent images of where to cut.
