I had the pleasure of presenting at the Territorial Bodies Conference Conference yesterday on the 🌊 Aquatic Bodies panel alongside Beatriz Arnal Calvo and Dr Giulia Champion. We spoke about the fluidity of rivers, submerged epistemologies, and oceanic citizenship. Image from @geo_coe
Thanks for the invitation and for putting on such a stellar conference, Territorial Bodies Conference! Exhausted but buzzing with ideas from the amazing work presented.
Territorial Bodies Conference gave me the opportunity to think and write about Ray Charles, space cowboys, Evian ads and spatial justice - among other things. Tremendous conference, brilliantly run by CharlotteSpear and @maddiesinclair_. You can find my paper here: mechanicaldolphin.com/2023/02/24/spa…
Flying back home today. Had a tremendous time at Territorial Bodies Conference organized by @MaddieSinclair_ & CharlotteSpear. Beautiful research presented. Blown away. Nice to meet Dr Giulia Champion at last ! Happy screening my last performances #Ototeman and presenting my paper. Brilliant !
Excited to be included in this forthcoming Routledge Books volume on 'Territorial Bodies' with a (yet to be finalised) chapter tentatively entitled 'Embodied-Embodying Geographies and the Stiff Upper Lip: Keeping Calm and "Staying Alert" while Some(bodies) Carry On' #BodyPolitics
Ah 🥳! I am so excited to be contributing to this collection with Routledge edited by @MaddieSinclair_ & CharlotteSpear . I am working on a chapter entitled 'Breaking the Body: Blackness and Animality in David Dabydeen's Slave Song'
Unsettled by recent events at Sycamore Gap, myself and fellow PhD researcher Nicola Hamer are embarking on a creative-critical project. The resulting series of interview-based poem-objects will respond to ecological absences and gaps, and how those gaps are framed. #SycamoreGap
New publication! Very happy and proud to finally see in print (open access!) a volume that grew out of a wonderful conference in Warwick some years ago (Territorial Bodies Conference), examining cultural production and body politics in the age of permanent polycrisis.
