Ms. Batra won "withholding of removal" over 25 years ago. While the government can deport someone with withholding to a third country, prior to 2025, almost everyone who won withholding was allowed to stay indefinitely. Now, despite decades of lawful behavior, ICE is jailing her.

Forgive & forget.

I am choosing not to dwell on actions that have affected my trust, but trust cannot be assumed going forward. It will need to be rebuilt through accountability and consistency.

I just read Watts v. United States, 394 U.S. 705 (1969), for the first time. The threat in that case was more direct than Comey’s supposed threat. So, this case seems unlikely to result in a conviction. Still, it’s sad to see the increasing violence against elected officials.

Where do people even find gas that’s selling at the national average prices? Every gas station near me charges AT LEAST a dollar more! I can only imagine how high the prices must be in California! 😅
