Any proposal that doesn’t offer meaningful Good Cause protections for Upstate isn’t a deal worth doing. Upstate tenants deserve and they need it now

UPDATE: now 45 lawmakers have joined the call.

There will be no housing deal that exempts countless tenants from while putting rent stabilized tenants in danger.

Thank you Pamela Hunter, George Alvarez, and Assemblymember Steven Raga for speaking out.

NEW: “Lawmakers must stand up to the real estate industry’s rapacious efforts to pad their own pockets, and reject efforts to recreate the pre-2019 dynamics that put a target on the backs of rent stabilized tenants.

'It's time for state leaders to choose a side.'

Our statement.

It’s become almost impossible to afford to live in NY because of real estate GREED.

rebny’s jacking up rents, gutting rent stabilization, & trying to block a housing package so they can keep getting richer.

It’s time for state leaders to stand w/ us & fight back.

New Yorkers, did you know you’re paying to subsidize the gas industry & build pipelines across NY?

Governor Kathy Hochul, Sen. Stewart-Cousins & Carl E. Heastie can change that by passing the full Act in the budget & save us money in the process. Let’s do it! citylimits.org/2024/03/29/why…

TOPA, the Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act, would give tenants the right to make the first offer on their building if their landlord decides to sell it. One could call this bill radical but we’re here in Albany today because we know it’s tenable and righteous! Tenant Power! ✊🏽

Fight, fight, fight, housing is a human right ✊

That’s not just a slogan — that’s a belief that runs deep within my bones ever since my landlord tried to evict me and my grandmother.

We’ll solve ’s housing crisis by ⬆️ supply AND protecting tenants.

Our members have been out all week in New Rochelle in Westchester County gathering signatures from tenants to demand Nathalia Fernandez supports statewide eviction.

Sen. Fernandez, the message from your constituents is clear:

THE RENT IS TOO DAMN HIGH!

BREAKING: Homeless New Yorkers disrupt Gov Hochul’s representative’s testimony during housing budget hearing.

Governor Kathy Hochul has consistently blocked HAVP, which would house over 20,000 NYers if passed.
