Our Greek Historians are making great progress on their inscriptions! They are fully carving their texts now and are painting their letters red (just like ancient Greeks and Romans did!) to contrast against the white marble. Well done!

Squeezing in one last assignment before the end of the semester. Ancient Greek history students took epigraphic squeezes of inscriptions on campus and learned skill sets used by ancient historians in the field.

Hunter Omerzo (‘24) created an archaeologically accurate reconstruction of an Egyptian baris boat based on a recently excavated example; also described by Herodotus (2.96).

I always thought of the Lower Bodleian Reading Room as the best place to do work on Late Antiquity in Oxford—among the old patristic books, where Peter Brown once studied. But I’m very pleased to discover these 17th c. portraits of late antique greats in the Upper Reading Room!

Good times on Monday at our Floralia party! Highlights included Marium's thesis presentation, winners of various competitions, our Eta Sigma Phi initiation, and general silliness.

Very proud of our majors and minors who won Temple College of Liberal Arts Baccalaureate Awards! Marium won our own Vlachos Award, Chris and Nideen were honored by History, and Santiago by English.
