SPC issuing an early severe weather risk for Day 6 and 7 convective outlook across the Mississippi Valley region and portions of the central and southern plains. We are hoping these storms produce, so we can finally get some content out there!

As of right now, our area is out of the moderate risk zone, but we will still likely see storms and rain this evening. If it gets gnarly, we will get out there and get some images for you guys!

As we catch some outer bands of the severe storms in the south, we are getting some awesome lighting and thunder! Check it out!

West Davenport tornado and wall cloud. This storm is nothing short of fascinating. Hoping everyone is safe, and there was no harm to life. Lots of flooding happening now. Remember, “Turn around don’t drown.” KWQC TV6 News NWS Severe Tstorm

Possibility for thunderstorms tonight and into Tuesday. Main threats include strong winds and large hail. Strong winds are possible with any thunderstorm and have the possibility of damaging property. Remember, be prepared especially as the severe weather season being to ramp up!

Severe weather possible for Thursday afternoon/evening. Strong winds and hail are the main concern. However, tornados do have a higher potential than prior storms this year. Have your tornado emergency plan ready, as this season is off to a roaring start!

What a doozy today! Iowa City saw some strong winds and pea sized hail, but didn’t see any rotation near the city. Most of the storms are tracking eastward, but show signs of dissipating before they hit Davenport. If you’re East of Tipton, stay safe and beware of hail!

Another doozy today! Southeastern Iowa City was under a tornado watch and severe T-storm warning, but the city itself got about 45 seconds of heavy rain and 10 seconds of small hail. There are still strong, tornado producing storms raging across the country, so stay safe!

Strong tornado producing supercells moving across the region today. Storms have already started to fire off! Potential EF2+ tornadoes. Very strong winds. Have your severe weather plan ready, and a way to receive alerts!
