Thanks Kansas Healthcare Collaborative! Really interesting session that has provoked a lot of thought about how we can improve what we do.

There's lots of medical leaders saying they want to choose more "resilient" students. That's the wrong approach. We have a US system now where compassionate doctors are beat down first in a highly toxic environment, while the unfeeling, callous doctors are highly "resilient."

A doctor friend of ours recently committed suicide. The medical industrial complex played a big role. We have ALL -- #doctors included, because our spineless complicity created and still enables the system -- allowed our greed to defile the sacred. We are all poorer for it.

We feel this. As we work to change the most hateful parts of our #healthcare, many tell us it's hopeless. We understand the sense of futility. But we have a simple idea: The #healthcaresystem isn't a third-party #monster. It's us. We can change ourselves. Tidal waves start small.
