Unless and until CNN admits that their Trump “town hall” disaster was a mistake that they will never again repeat, I am done watching the network. That’s a minimum. Having CEO Licht resign would be better.

No, .Anderson Cooper 360°, it's not about me wanting to be in a silo. I want to know what Trump is saying...and I want CNN to cover him. What I do not want is for CNN to host what amounts to a Trump rally where his lies go largely unchecked and where a stacked crowd cheers him on.

Ted Landau (@tedlandau) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It isn't CNN's job to make news. And it shouldn't strive to do that. It's their job to report the news, to cover the news, to fact check the news, to analyze the news. The Trump town hall was just a blatant and shameless ratings grab.

My first take on VisionPro: Incredible technology & interface (if it works as shown). Amazing capabilities. Understandable price. Price & bulkiness are big concerns of course. But biggest minus is one shared by all such devices: it's a solo device. Can't share what you're seeing.

Apple's last major product launch, the Watch, was an unobtrusive device designed to help you be you more active. The Vision Pro is a "in your face" product designed to have you be stationary. The opposite. We'll see how that goes.

Ted Landau (@tedlandau) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Reading about the hands-on experiences with the Vision Pro, it seems more like a "proof-of-concept" than a finished product. But that's OK. At some point, Apple needed to get off the runway here. It succeeded. We're off. Let's see where we are when we're at cruising altitude.

The excellent sc-fi novel, Daemon by Daniel Suarez (amazon.com/Daemon-Daniel-…) imagines what a distant future version of Vision Pro could be like. It's both enthralling and scary (much like the current situation with AI in general).

U.S. News media is so “egocentric.” In all the coverage of the smoke from Canadian wildfires affecting U.S. cities, I almost never see any mention of how all of this is affecting Canada.

The GOP Implosion. Sometimes the political situation is so infuriating that I feel compelled to write something about it. Just to lower my blood pressure if nothing else. This is one of those times. #NeverTrump tedlandau.com/slantedviewpoi…

Apple’s Macintosh is 40 years old today. Happy Birthday. And thanks, Steve…for giving it to us and changing the future of personal computing.

Bill Gates is so wealthy that he has donated more than $20 BILLION dollars to his charitable foundation. Donald Trump is so wealthy that he is hawking sneakers and bibles — so he can make a few extra bucks. #TrumpisaNationalDisgrace

I’ve been on the fence about NYT news and analysis coverage for a while now. This piece from Esquire pushes me over the edge. It shows how NYT is normalizing Trump and covering up his delusional behavior. Disgusting. apple.news/AVfk2usuNQXeGE…

If you haven’t yet checked out the newly announced ChatGPT 4o — prepare to be blown away. Watch the videos shown here to get an idea: openai.com/index/hello-gp…. If it reminds you of Scarlet Johansen in Her, that’s not an accident.

Ira Glass talking to Alexander Vindman about what Trump said re Zelensky phone call at a recent rally. How anyone can listen to this and still want to defend Trump? And why doesn’t this get more media coverage? drive.google.com/file/d/1-e00vi…

Even after all these years, I still don’t understand the thinking of Trump supporters. Beyond the hardest of his hard-core, does anyone really believe it’s a good idea to have a president who believes immigrants eat cats…because he heard it on TV?

Hello all. I intend this to be may last X/Twitter post. For reasons that I assume are obvious. I will miss the good times here. But so be it. I can now be found on BlueSky at tedlandau.bksy.social. Hope to see you there!

One post-final reminder: I am no longer posting here at X. You can find me on Bluesky at tedlandau.bksy.social. Join me there. And also join me by boycotting reading/watching anything to do with the T**mp inauguration from January 20-24. So long!
