The owners of Dallas Mavericks may do as they please with that which is theirs. However, they have a corporate/civic responsibility to steward well things shared. Any professional team is part of a community. Good will is a community value apparently lost on current ownership.

I intended to repost the Daniel Silliman article with comment. I do not know this man, nor judge him. However, this is precisely an example of why I DO NOT subscribe to Christianity Today, often called Christianity Astray - imo straying far from the clear founding purpose/message.

Don’t let the potholes and detours on the road discourage you. The destination is worth it.

Don't place too much confidence in public figures whose "brand" of Christianity requires them to constantly do and say sensational things. Give me instead a pastor who has no online "platform" but who serves his church and his Lord faithfully for a lifetime.
