Not a peep from the tech donors on X, which makes sense if $100k per year doesn’t apply to those already in the US. Most of their H1Bs get in US through F1 and L1 first. If big tech truly needed the talent they’d have no issue paying 100k per year. Absolute Trojan horse sham

Notice the wording. He didn’t say hire Americans. Hire “domestically.” Elon sources his H1Bs “domestically.” Which is why he and all of big tech will not have to pay 100k for the vast majority of cases.

Yesterday we were told 100k was “annually” and that H1B workers would be “sent home.” It’s not annual, no one is going home, and the fee doesn’t apply to those converting from other visas, ie all the H1Bs that Microsoft hires

The reality is Donald J. Trump invited Big Tech Devils to the White House, the same Big Tech Devils who BANNED him from social media. They then crafted pretty much a nothing burger when it comes to stopping H1-Bs. Remember, Trump & Vance ignored the H1-B issue last Christmas.

$100k is the smoking gun. Everyone saying we don’t have the talent is now saying Google can’t afford $100k for “real talent.” They’ve been gaslighting us. The. Whole. Time.

If there is a shortage of skilled workers, wages rise - so people switch to that field, come out of retirement, and more people acquire those skills. Immigration is unnecessary - and becomes unending, because market signals have been destroyed. It’s Econ 101, not complicated.

America Last: “We need H1B because Americans aren’t talented enough” Trump: “We’re putting an annual $100k fee on H1Bs” America Last: “Noo! No one is going to hire H1Bs if Americans are cheaper 😡” Trump: jk, to be clear *You are here

I've worked in tech for 2.5 decades. I've hired hundreds of H1Bs over the years. Some of them are good friends still. I can tell you that this system is SO deeply broken. I am pro immigration, but 100% against the current H1B system which in fact promotes racism, unfairness, and

If H-1B was really about getting the best talent on earth, they would have no problem with the floor wage being alignment with India, $600,000 (10x median wage) H-1B was designed to not only get cheap foreign labor with worse working conditions, it was meant depress American

They must have accidentally read us the draft version
one that was vetoed by those who have been uncharacteristically đŸ€ Not a single dissenter among the tech cartel willing to post about it. They got the memo. But on our side we’re literally being told to “trust the process”

The entire point was to re-allocate more foreign workers from H1B mills to big tech while minimizing side effects. Creating opportunities for Americans aspiring to become a doctor was a side effect; a bug.

Sorry, unemployed American with a CS degree. You’ll have to sacrifice for your country. “Bun” is too important to risk. Its H1Bs have already onboarded. You want to secure a future for yourself and your family, but without Bun, what kind of a future would your children have?

Every year, 20% of qualified applicants don’t match with a residency program. The AMA does not want to increase residency slots. They want to maintain an artificially low supply of doctors—this is well known. But they do lobby for H1B doctors.

Hey AMA, we read your Wikipedia page: “The AMA lobbied for reductions in physician supply during the Great Depression” “In 1997, the AMA lobbied Congress to restrict the number of doctors that could be trained in the United States” (still in place) Sit this one out

So by now you’re aware: Roughly all 2 million H1Bs in the green card backlog have obtained their status due to fraud by their employers. I hope your “crack down” includes righting this wrong done to the American people
