As a clipper system moves through the Great Lakes region tonight a batch of regionally significant wind is likely Monday night and throughout the day Tuesday. With the nature of the snowpack (very light and fluffy) I expect severe drifting- especially Tuesday morning.

Near zero visibility at times. Most roads are very much drivable early this morning, however open rural roads have become susceptible to drifting. The real hazard is visibility- loose blowing snow is causing temporary white outs in some areas. - North Adams, MI 6:15am

Country roads, N/S roads in particular, are becoming nearly one lane in places in southern Michigan and especially northern IN/OH. This is due to heavy drifting of snow. Conditions like this will last into the evening. Picture courtesy Jess Piper

It’s nice and warm in Indiana this morning… NOT. Some areas of the state are even colder. 🫠❄️ Who is ready for spring?

Convective Chronicles Trey you have a big voice in the community, can you explain how the SPC was never meant to be understandable for the general public, and how the SPC should be as detailed as possible. I’m seeing too many people forget the purpose of the SPC and NWS respectively.

THIS IS CRAZY! The Outer Banks in the Carolina's is getting blasted by, quite literally, a SNOW-UR-CANE! This is a fascinating meteorological spectacle. It's not very often a surface low bombs out there- especially with temperatures cold enough for a blizzard!

Consistency AND agreement among global models are evident for a possibly impressive system late next week (~170-190hrs). It seems plausible that we could see some form of svr weather in any warm sector that materializes, and a winter storm (on the stronger side?) to the north.

I have a 2015 Rav4 XLE. Any suggestions on video head mounting for the front dash. I am using a mirrorless and 24-105mm lense primarily. Any help would be greatly appreciated! #wxtwitter
