#TeachingEnglish tip for busy parents – simple word games like “I spy” and “story relay” can be played anywhere, with no prior planning. They're a great way to sneak some extra #English practice into your child's day.

It can be difficult to know how to help your #child with their #English when you have some many other things to do, so flashcards are a great tool. Your child can play lots of different games, even if you can't play with them. #englishforkids #KidFriendlyEnglish

A picnic is a lovely thought for a summer day, especially when the sun is out (and it does come out sometimes in the U.K. !) And the English words in the picnic topic are useful everyday words! #EFL #ESL #EAL #ESOL #TEFL #EnglishForKids #LearnEnglish #TeachEnglish

If you're one of the many parents lacking the confidence to teach your child #English, remember that your #child will never love a teacher as much as they love you. Playing a word game or reading a story with you will make them happy, meaning they'll learn more.

I feel the same way about Spanish. Yet most days I have five year olds having entire conversations with me in English, their second or even third language.

I can't believe I've never taught a student the word "thingamajig". It's so versatile and every English speaker needs to use it at some point. What was I thinking? Incidentally, "thingy" and "wotsit" can also be used. "whatchamacallit" will be understood but it's a bit American.

Reading poetry is a great way for children to practice their English vocabulary, pronunciation and fluency. There are some wonderful classic poems for children, but I think the sillier poems, like this one, are the best 😃 #FunWithEnglish #englishforkids

#Children love role-play! Have fun with this by pretending to be different family members, like a mother, father, sister, or grandfather to practice their #English vocabulary and grammar. #learningthroughplay #playbasedlearning

Family relationships are so important for #children. You can build better relationships between siblings by making a treasure hunt for them. Hide objects & create simple clues in #English so your children can read each clue to find treasure. #funwithEnglish

#English setence structure can be puzzling, so why not make it into a jigsaw puzzle? Subject + Verb + Object = a simple, grammatically correct English sentence! #grammar #learningthroughplay

"English Charades" where each family member acts out simple words or phrases, and others guess in English, is a great family game-night activity. It improves vocabulary, pronunciation, and boosts confidence in using English. #learningthroughplay #FunwithEnglish

Make #learningEnglish fun with some family activities! Create flashcards with family member names, play a 'Who Am I?' guessing game, or make a family photo album with labels. These engaging exercises make vocabulary building exciting and memorable!
