Public Health Ontario now recommends the return of universal indoor masking in schools to prevent more school closures. So… tell me again which experts Doug Ford is listening to? Because he’s clearly not even listening to his own team. publichealthontario.ca/-/media/Docume… #OntEd

While public schools and COVID hot-spots went without, Ford was shovelling hundreds of thousands of rapid tests to Ontario's elite private schools. Access to essential public health tools shouldn't depend on who you know, where you live, or how much money you have.#onted #onpoli

Question time: Would you be angered to hear that your child’s school was still only going outside for one 15 minute recess with friends and lunch was only 20 minutes outside and 40 minutes inside. The other “recess” is with their own class only (like a mask break).

How can there still be any people that are proud to be an American? I can’t imagine living in a country where gun violence isn’t a priority for politicians. Mind boggling.

42% of Ontario voted? Why are we such a disaster? The majority of Ontario did NOT vote for Ford! We seriously need a system change here. Our options were so slim, people didn’t even want to vote. Sad.

Stephen Lecce Stephen Lecce thinks parents have forgotten it was HIM who kept kids out of school the longest in NA. He refused to implement health & safety protocols during the pandemic. He cut 1.6 billion from ed & announced a further cut of 225 million, just this week.

1. Erode public healthcare 2. Say “Look! We need to do something!” (All agree) 3. Have public pay private healthcare whatever they want (more than prev needed) to ‘fix’ 4. Clear wknd plans for celebration with pal who happens to own private healthcare biz

If the government was legislating you into a multi-year pay cut (during an affordability crisis), how would you feel? How about if you made $39,000 for critical work that made education possible and safe? Everyone should stand with CUPE education workers.

Our secretaries and custodians are the heartbeat of our school. They work diligently in the background to help the rest of the school staff do their jobs and keep our children safe. EAs/TAs/ERWs whatever the acronym, these people are the lifeblood, they help give children the

I have had more kids absent in my class this year for longer periods of time that I did in the last 2 years. Now we’re disrupted again because the government won’t give these CUPE members what they deserve. What a dumpster fire this year is already.

Synchronous remote learning is a horrible beast and it only exists because of a pandemic. It should not be awoken because of a strike. #onted

Here’s my question. Our CA says nothing about doing virtual teaching. We did it during a “once a in a century” pandemic. Why are we just accepting it as normal during CUPE strike? Tell me why I should work outside my CA? #GeneralStrikeON #FireLecce

All Ontario school boards affected by the #CUPE strike should be offering no more than asynchronous learning until further notice. Synchronous online learning is not equitable, and certainly not a part of any (now expired) teaching contract in Ontario. #onted #ontedsolidarity

Why is Stephen Lecce still banging on about extracurriculars?? He cannot guarantee that people will keep VOLUNTEERING! He plays no part in teams and clubs, that is entirely the good will and free efforts of educators. #onted

Serious question, #OntEd - our contracts expired August 31st. There is no deal in sight, no real urgency on either side. Most parents have no idea our contract is expired, or that it's even a bargaining year. How are we not at least (officially) on work to rule?!! #onpoli
