PRISONERS TRANSFERRED: Two prisoners have been moved from HMP Grand Turk to HMP Northward in the Cayman Islands where they will serve some of their term. The move has been taken to "improve security, decrease risk and to restore and maintain order", a Gov't press release said.

PNP WINS: The Progressive National Party has won nine out of ten electoral district seats in the February 19 general election, according to the Governor's Office. The winners of the five all island seats are yet to be announced.

CLEAN SWEEP: The PNP has won all of the five at large all island seats in the House of Assembly, the Elections Department has just announced. Along with the nine electoral district wins, the party has gained 14 seats in the House of Assembly - an overwhelming majority.

The prosecution of Michael Misick and others has been (temporarily) stayed until May 31. Chief Justice Mabel Agyemang has dismissed two of three applications by the accused to stay the proceedings, and partially granted the one that deals with abuse of process, with conditions.

A 27-year-old man was tragically killed in a car crash on Leeward Highway in Providenciales on Saturday. The driver of the second vehicle that was involved in the incident was not injured.
