20 June 1991. The German Bundestag voted by 337 to 320 to move the capital from Bonn back to Berlin. Due to a vote counting error, a further vote was added to those in favour. The move took 8 years to complete. On 19 April 1999, the German Bundestag finally met in the Reichstag.
