Short thread on marginal vs effective tax rates. We know that the tax brackets ranges from 18 - 45% for individuals aka marginal tax rates. For example, if you are in this range 0 - 216,000 taxable income is the 18% tax bracket But you're NOT paying 18% tax... Koshiek Karan

Budget speech, 23 Feb 2022 Tax Maverick predictions: 1. Clarity over 27% corporate tax implementation 2. Lower adjusted individual tax brackets, no margin increases. 3. Inflationary increase to excise duty (sin tax) 4. No increase in VAT, Dividend Tax and CGT inclusion rates.

Budget speech 2022, highlights: 1. No increase in fuel levy 2. Increase in alcohol/tobacco prices 3. No major increase in taxes such as CGT, Dividend Tax 4. Corporate tax rate drops to 27% from 1 April 2022. 5. Relief for individuals tax brackets. My predictions were on point.
