Appalling that Chris Minns is cutting 276 teachers from public education. With teachers already swamped with new syllabuses this will only increase workloads nswtf.org.au/news/2024/09/0…

There are over 100 Directors of schools whose only purpose is to bully principals and teachers but Chris Minns is abolishing the teacher quality section of the Department of Education

Anncaro1 🙄🤣 Teachers Federation Henry Rajendra Good god, have they learned NOTHING? I wrote this 12 years ago when the Libs cut 1.7 billion dollars out of education and claimed it would not affect frontline services: and look how that turned out. Expected better from Labor. Silly me. misrule.com.au/wordpress/deat…

This ⬇️👏 My thoughts are with all those impacted -we ( and I) have been here before. We were headed back to better resourced / supported schools in terms of core business, feeling impact in rural areas -first time since the 2012 gutting . Now this ! What a betrayal.

I am still in utter disbelief and I am feeling for every one of my non school based teacher colleagues who is impacted. It just makes no sense to rip out system wide support when we most need it.

Absolutely disgraceful. Non-school based positions support teachers in so many ways. They are so important as classroom teachers continue to introduce new syllabus documents to kids with higher needs than ever, while under-resourced under-staffed! Cutting us off at the knees.

Alice Leung Have they identified specific teams Alice or is this across the board? I often feel the Dept and ministers really don’t understand teaching and its needs as they always seem to make decisions that make the job harder!

Mr EPIstemic (@daviddun1) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Gutted by this news. Non School Based Teachers play a vital role, particularly for Languages Teachers like me who are usually the only teacher of our discipline in a school. Cutting this support will make our jobs harder, people will leave and students will suffer. Senseless.

Alice Leung This has been happening for nearly a year now. Right after the teacher pay rise. The same reason I was moved on last year. There is so much expertise and experience already gone from ITD, now other teams seem to be getting the same treatment.

No public school in the state has the full funding required to meet student need… it’s time for the Prime Minister to step up. #ForEveryChild

I ask again: if we can afford to over fund virtually every private school in Australia according to their SRS, why can’t we afford to fund every public school to at the very least their SRS? There can only be one answer. Class.

Entrenched disadvantage now includes physical activity and sport opportunities. It’s time governments act. Every child deserves access to programs and facilities that improve fitness, skills and overall health. Sport in NSW should not be just for the elite! #ForEveryChild

Concord HS Teachers Federation members came together today to show their solidarity with over 200 non-school based teachers whose positions are about to be cut. These cuts should NOT go ahead.
