Processing the Rings of Power first season, I’ve been reading Tolkien’s 1951 letter to Milton Waldman, a prospective publisher of The Silmarillion. I’m concluding that, time compression aside, the RoP writers are including more core Tolkien than I’ve been giving them credit.

His take was literally “listen to trans people, not just those attacking trans people”. Bare minimum stuff & he was great. He was literally harassed off Twitter. Meanwhile, JK Rowling literally stated trans people don’t deserve the basic human right of presumption of innocence.

I need publishers to understand the deep well of need for a woman-narrated Tolkien audiobook. If we could get Morfydd Clark or Cate Blanchett to narrate, I would literally listen to it for the rest of my life. #audiobooks #LOTRonPrime #RingsofPower

If Twitter ever gets *really* gross we should have like a place IRL that we get together. Somewhere free to hang out, somewhere quietish, but vibrant too. Maybe there could be activities and stuff to learn and do together. Maybe some books. Someone should look into this
