Mobile app usage, spending and downloads hit an all-time high in Q2 2020. There was a 40% growth year over year in mobile app usage, $27 billion spent in mobile apps and 35 billion total app downloads in Q2 2020.

How does your app succeed in such a competitive market space? As of May 2020, there were 2.56 million apps on the Play Store and 1.85 million on the App Store. The average user uses 9 apps per day, but only 24% of all apps are used only once.

Globally, mCommerce accounts for 35% of all online retail transactions this year, compared to 30% last year. The UK, Japan and South Korea have the greatest proportion of mCommerce transactions at 50%.
