Ageism and ableism accelerated at a scary speed over the last few years.

Older people are more likely to have disabilities affecting dexterity, cognition & eyesight.

Lots are busy being carers for other older people & young family members.

Not everyone can afford a smartphone.

Hot take: There are exceptions, but most therapists don't have the necessary range of experience to train as a supervisor after 2 years of practice. The idea of nobody with more than 2 years of practice experience having their eyes on a piece of therapy work frankly terrifies me.

Anti-trans therapists may currently be cheering that the UKCP has left the MOU. But what happens now, when their queer child goes to see a UKCP therapist? Can they be sure their child won't experience conversion therapy? Have they thought this through? 🤔🤔🤔 #TherapistsConnect

My big takeaway from the Cass review is that this is hugely dangerous for not just Gillick competence, but for the presumed medical competence of *adults* full stop - Because if a 24yo can't meaningfully consent to a mastectomy, how could they ever consent to an abortion?

Oof. As a queer and queer-affirmative therapist that UKCP email about withdrawing from the MoU on conversion therapy & the Coalition Against Conversion Therapy is an absolute punch in the gut.

This is an important statement from the UN Human Rights Council affirming the rights of intersex people. Governments must end the medical, social, and other forms of violence inflicted on people because of variations in sex characteristics.

More performative politics from Sunak as he desperately tries to scrape up votes from xenophobes. Neither leaving the ECHR or Rwanda Policy have anything close to majority support. Just threatening to leave makes UK look even more pathetic though. #r4today
