Getting the power back on as safely & quickly as possible is our no. 1 priority following #Milton. This Duke Energy crew from Apopka grounds a line off Roger Williams Rd to protect tree trimmers working to clear the line and get it energized.
In Clearwater, just north of Belleair, Duke Energy crews have been busy today getting power back to a large number of customers in this area. Our 16,000 teammates will not stop until we get the lights back on for everyone.
More Duke Energy crews in Clearwater off of North Betty Lane restoring power. Crews are still facing significant damage in this area. These line workers will work well into the night.
Buckets and boots in the air! Crews are working on neighborhood roads and behind homes today to repair damaged Duke Energy power lines from #HurricaneMilton . This crew is working in Bayview along 37th St S and will be on several side streets to repair downed lines.
An update from Pasco County. The county is still dealing with flooding issues but where it’s safe, our Duke Energy team is busy restoring power. On neighborhood streets and even in backyards, we’re working as quickly and safely as possible
The Siver Oaks community in southeast Pasco County is still experiencing significant flooding. Many residents were evacuated because of the high water. Transformers and other Duke Energy infrastructure was underwater. Crews are here, using our Marsh Master to assess next steps.
Work ongoing near Phillip Jones Park in Clearwater to restore service to several hundred Duke Energy customers in the area, including apartments, community center and other local services. Crews are getting close on this important job. City of Clearwater, FL Pinellas County #Milton
Work continues in the residential communities of Pasco County. This crane was required for a tight squeeze in the back yard of a home in Holiday, FL. The crane was needed to remove a tree. Duke Energy continues to bringing on the lights as quickly as possible.

Some kids in Pinellas County #Florida gave a our Duke Energy lineworkers homemade treat bags with cards, a big bag of popcorn 🍿 and cold water. Our lineworkers teams are always grateful for such kind gestures from the community — they really do love it! #HurricaneMilton
Much of the work now going on to restore power in #Florida is concentrated in neighborhoods and behind homes. Jobs like these may take hours and only restore the few customers on that outage. Duke Energy crews continue to work nonstop. #hurricanemilton

UPDATE: Some new images to show just how severe the flooding is in the Silver Oaks community in southeast Pasco County. Transformers and other Duke Energy infrastructure remain underwater. Electricity and water do not mix. We cannot energize this area until the water recedes.
Now under 50,000 outages across Florida for Duke Energy customers and a majority of those will be restored by tonight. Losing power is certainly challenging but it has been amazing to watch these line workers and everyone who supports them, do this restoration work.
