Re SEND reforms, let us be under no illusion, this is simply intended to save money. The current law works and does not need to change. What is needed is accountability to ensure LAs implement the law. It is complete and utter madness to change the law.

The Govt is proposing more mediation to stop parents appealing to the SEND Tribunal. Mediation does't work because LAs ignore the law and do not adhere to the rules around mediation. Further, mediators have no power over LAs AND mediation agreements are not upheld BBC Woman's Hour

When a child transfers from primary to secondary school, all that will happen is LAs will cease to maintain the child's EHC plan. The Government is ignorant to this or even worse, lieing BBC Woman's Hour
