I am delighted to have been elected as a council member of the Norfolk and Norwich Naturalists’ Society last night. I am looking forward to working with fellow council members; in particular on education incentives.

The Taiga's unusual shape comes from its reverse porro prism design. This means you can keep the benefits of a porro prism design (efficient light transmission and better images) in an ultra-compact package. opticron.co.uk/our-products/c…

Last Sunday, I did a guided walk at RSPB Lakenheath Fen for the team: Wildlife members. A great day was had by all and the star turned out to be a very confiding Cetti's Warbler.

Did someone say new binoculars? The Savanna R PC Oasis is coming later this month! Available in the same 8x33 and 10x33 configurations as the outgoing model, the Oasis features improved light transmission for a better-performing binocular in the same lightweight and compact body.

I have a new base for talk: Wildlife, the hide in the CleySpy meadow behind the optics showroom in Glandford. It looks over the meadow with its great bird feeding station and the Bayfield Estate, so will be an excellent place for running my natural history activities.

Spent some time at a farm in East Harling today with a view to it becoming a venue for talk: Wildlife activities. The farmer has spent a huge amount of effort managing the land for wildlife and restoring the pingos on the farm. Definitely has potential for natural history events.

Had a wonderful meeting at Mannington Hall and Estate today to discuss the possibility of delivering curriculum based activities for schools at the Estate. Next step: planning how we can work together with Emma Buck. #wildlife #naturalhistory #education

It was great to take some of the team: Wildlife club members to Buckenham Marsh today. Plenty of Pink-footed Geese flying over, big flocks of Lapwing and five species of raptor! Wigeon in good numbers and some excellent sightings of Chinese Water Deer. #wildlife #birds #deer

Went to the first of what Nick Acheson informed us is going to become a regular series of Norfolk Wildlife Trust events in Norwich last night. It was very good. Nick hosted Dr Erica McAlister and Adrian to talk about the following book. I highly recommend future events.
