English town names tell a lot of history. Anything ending in -caster, -cester or -chester was a Roman fort. -bury and -borough are Saxon forts. If it ends in -by it was settled by vikings (by is still the Swedish and Norwegian word for village.) -ford is a river crossing.

Still on Yoruba culture and change, (inspired by Awujale’s burial). Part two of a three part series. Yoruba Obas are not fossilised relics. They are living institutions. Over the past 150–200 years, Obaship has bent, stretched, reshaped itself, but hasn’t disappeared. This

This is very wrong BTW. Ede was established as a military outpost by the Alaafin and had nothing to do with Islamic missionary or slave trade.

No serious candidate will contest for Reps/Senate under PDP in Osun given they're not dumb. A lot of the serious minded guys will join Aregbe in ADC.

1. It wasn't about the momentum but the figures. In this scenario,Atiku has better figures and spread. 2. Despite PMB northern figures,he wasn't 'picked',he went through the internal party process of primaries and came tops. Power is never served a là carte.

My projection still remains that PBAT is VERY likely to win in 2027. He has the elite consensus to push him through and he also has a better game. However,it is still in the interest of Nigerian democracy for the opposition to unite and forge a powerful voice of reason.

Again, what is happening now mirrors the ill fated dying-minutes coalition negotiation between CPC and ACN prior to the 2011 elections. The ACN already conceded the presidency while the CPC naively insisted on still having Bakare on the ticket. We all know how it ended. 😃😀😀

IT,pitch PO against Atiku and BAT again in 2027, he'll still come 3rd. or Remove BAT from the equation and pitch him nationally against Atiku he'll still lose. Those are the issues 😎

Obi cannot fight for a ticket within a political party but wants to confront an incumbent in a do or die national election. Iranu-Abasha takes flying around ! 😎😎

Many of you guys don't even know that PDP won the Presidential elections in Lagos in 2003,2007 and 2011. E don tey wey men dey cut maddt deals o 😃😃

Taiwo (@taiwotoyinbo) 's Twitter Profile Photo

See,the 'maddtest' one was in 2011 when PBAT shenked his own presidential candidate Nuhu Ribadu and 'Sold' the SW votes to GEJ. That year, only Aregbe Baba Kabiru deliver for Ribadu. Ribadu wan cry dat year but tear no come😀😀

Taiwo (@taiwotoyinbo) 's Twitter Profile Photo

What about Wike that opened his Opay in both 2019 and 2023 but it still ended in tears for him? Wike wey 'allegedly' dey give $30k per delegate but later still hear am.

I think PBAT's game is centred around 3 tatics: 1. Create a southern solidarity 2. Break the 'Political North' into Christian North vs Muslim North 3. Create a viable 'spoiler' 3rd force pseudo-opposition party. The next 2 years will be full of interesting times !
