For #wildwebswednesday Persian lilac hosting lichen, fungus, pennywort (?) and a baby acer tree. Possibly a Big leave acer. And obviously the hollow is a habitat to insects too

A few #butterflies from yesterday's stroll from Beverley to Cherry Burton on the rail trail. Spotted others, including a nice-looking brimstone, but they refused to play ball.

My first Green-Veined White butterfly of the year feeding on Forget-me-knots earlier this week 💙🤍 #WildWebsWednesday #nature #butterflies
I haven't forgotten you all, I'm just dealing with a few family health issues at the moment. Hope to be back posting more soon! 🙏🕊️
A common jezebel rests on the trunk of a eucalyptus... perhaps to suck its oozing sap or gum? #TitliTuesday #thicktrunktuesday #trees #butterfly #IndiAves #nature #photography #wildwebswednesday #natgeoindia #April #summer
#WildWebsWednesday Trees fallen over in storm earlier this year cause larger space for woodland flowers, until the other trees move into the vacant space. WildWebsWednesday
A little Bee (not sure what sort) feeding on, and pollinating, an Early Purple Orchid. The Bee’s head is covered in pollinia - never seen that before! #WildWebsWednesday
Very lucky in my work that I just happen to observe things by being in the right place at the right time. Like just now. A Large Red Damselfly sheltering from a very cold Lincolnshire wind in a Cuckoo-pint. #WildwebsWednesday
14-spot Ladybird on a Dandelion for #wildwebswednesday . It has heavier black marks than normal. WildWebsWednesday
The Green Hairstreak butterfly on an Elm - it’s an important plant to the butterfly as it’s where it can bask in the sunlight & get its solar cells charged up. #WildWebsWednesday
The alder hosts a number of invertebrates - here are two that were visiting it today for #WildWebsWednesday The first is a Noonday fly, I think, but the second is unknown to me #TwitterNatureCommunity Biodiversity Ireland
Have taken some time recently to pause next to patches of nettles peering in and around the leaves and they have all been awesome mini wildlife havens. Great for bugs sheltering from the wind, the rain or just for catching some rays of sun #WildWebsWednesday
Hawthorn Leaf Beetle / Lochmaea crataegi on Hawthorn for #wildwebswednesday .
Only 1 seen this weekend vs ~20 a previous weekend -so timing is important and is perhaps why I haven’t seen them previous years.
