Happy ! ☀️ How will you be celebrating the longest day of the year?

‘Solstice’ comes from the Latin, ‘solstitium’, meaning the stopping or standing still of the sun.

Caterpillars of the Goat moth live inside the trunks of a variety of broadleaved trees, feeding on the wood. Digesting wood is a slow process, so the caterpillar takes four years to reach full size (Up to 10cm!)

On Wednesdays, we wear pink! 💖

Look out for the fabulous Elephant Hawk-moth this month. The name is inspired by the caterpillar's unusual resemblance to an elephant's trunk! 🐘
