Surrogacy is baby trafficking. Women’s wombs are not for rent. Women from poor countries and poor backgrounds are more likely to be forced to “volunteer” their bodies for surrogacy due to economic pressure. It reduces the dignity of women and babies.
On June 19, discussion of the bill to make womb renting a universal crime begins in parliament. We support it as a first step toward a global abolition of this practice of exploitation and commodification of the generative female body and human life. #StopSurrogacyNow
