Did Nick goatman's Frampton pools this evening & it was dead. I'd almost completed the circuit & met Gordon Hodgson he'd found a male Redstart✅in the field S of the sailing lake. Then we found a very late Fieldfare. Also 30 Tufties, Common Sand, Bullfinch & 2 Sand Martins.

I'm now off to the reed beds again. But before I go there's this Fieldfare trying to encourages worms to the top by tapping on the surface just like blackbirds do. Clever little things aren't they.

The fields under development are wildlife rich and provide a vital component of a wider wildlife corridor with country park. I fear that one day the only sign of peregrine falcons, buzzards, merlin, bullfinch, redwing and fieldfare in the area will be on street signs.
