Neighbouring Birch trees at Cosmeston today produced two Coleophora serratella larvae and several mines. Only got one photo of a larva in the mines, which I think is Eriocrania semipurpurella. Rob Edmunds, is this clear enough to tell?
I rechecked the mines in young Birch saplings at Cosmeston this morning, Rob Rob Edmunds - I think the first 2 photos are Eriocrania semipurpurella, while pics 3 & 4 (a closeup of 3) are Eriocrania unimaculella. Is that right?
Top entrance to west paddock at Cosmeston is permanently open allowing horse riders to access the paddock. Hoof marks and horse manure all around the field. Vale Council 🏴🇺🇦 please fix this - it's dangerous for dog walkers and the horse riders
