A walk out of Martindale, past the old quarry at Low Dodd and the Low Moss Sheepfold onto the summit of Place Fell. Returning along the Patterdale bridleway in Boredale. Didn’t manage to dodge the rain. 😊🥾

Secret Squirrel Stonor Park and Gardens On the map it is bridleway a bit further. The point for me is there are several paths that wd easily support a bike/horses.

I am tired of these people hoarding our natural resources

'Like many small villages, we have no pavements. So for all of us the road is also our footpath, cycleway and bridleway. It is our arterial road used by ducks, dogs, horses, runners, walkers, cyclists, tractors, cars and vans.' - Ben Fogle

In today’s Sunday Times Ben Fogle makes a strong case that a 60mph speed limit is too high for rural villages:

David Nicholls I just wanted to congratulate you on a joyous new book. I just loved it. I’m a teacher who loves rambling and David Nicholls novels, so you can imagine my reaction. You are a gem! I will be shouting about You Are Here from every public bridleway. Thank you!

Unbelievably, this photo was taken on a public bridleway! Some parts of our precious are being allowed to deteriorate & this decline in quality is then being used by some as justification for their proposed loss to development. See our campaign

A morning walk with ⁦MarburyBirds⁩ included watching Debbie make arrangements with Odette (Mrs Swan) and then wallow in the mud for a good angle for the photoshoot in front of the church. Also the biggest Public Bridleway sign in the UK and some nice country-lane flowers.

Ruth Dinsdale Glad you found it ok 🤩 it’s a great bridleway. Apparently grazed by cows sometimes so you need to have a careful lookout
