Together with Professor Jean Louis Morel in a nickel agromining field in Albania. Professor Morel originated the term ‘agromining’ to denote the entire chain of agronomic processes for the production of metals of economic value from the cultivation of hyperaccumulator plants.

Plants can do some pretty amazing things: make the oxygen we breath, create homes for us, slow flooding... and suck metals from the soil (agromining)! Incredible!

Viola rupestris (a relative of the species below, only found at a few sites in the UK) can hyperaccumulate Zn, Cd and Pb which could make it useful in cleaning polluted soils as well as agromining!

La chercheuse Claude Grison est finaliste du prix de l’inventeur européen 2022. Notre journaliste Jean-Baptiste Veyrieras l’avait rencontrée pour son article dans Epsiloon #4 sur l’agromining: des plantes qui extraient or, nickel, cobalt des sols pollués. Avec déjà des résultats!
