The Washington Post As a society, we have agree that the USNWR assessment of what makes a “good” school is correct. Small schools that serve a regional or specific population are not considered “good”. We’ve chosen to devalue these schools, and they don’t survive.

As a fellow 90s UChicago grad, I'd like to point out that USNWR rankings had the school between 9 and 14 throughout the decade, elite by any reasonable definition
College rankings are great for ideas of colleges you haven’t thought of before but they are useless in determining which college will best fit your #student and thus provide her with the best education.
