Essential Thrombocythemia Complications!

1. Vascular = 15-year risk of thrombosis 10%-25%, ⬆️JAK2 than in CALR mutated.
2. Progression to myelofibrosis = 15-year risk 10%, ⬆️type 1 (not type 2) CALR-mutant than in JAK2-mutant ET.
3. Leukemic transformation (15-year = 3%).

Leukoerythroblastosis and myelophthisic anemia can be associated with any marrow-replacing process. In this case, the likely etiology was post-essential thrombocythemia myelofibrosis.
